The first school was in Gwernygo township, where a parsonage and temporary school were built in 1861 - Sarn had become an ecclesiastical parish in 1860. A second school was built in 1864, the date of the start of the log books. A second trust deed was made in 1865, and a new school and masters' house was built in Bahaillion township in 1868, which was used until new building was undertaken in 1970. Though a Church of England school, it was also referred to as 'Sarn National School'. The school closed in July 2006.
