Administrative and biographical history: Baner ac Amserau Cymru (Y Faner) was a weekly newspaper launched in 1859. It was edited by E. Prosser Rhys (1901-45) from 1923 to 1945. It was bought by Gwasg y Sir, Bala, Merionethshire, in 1958. It changed format into a weekly magazine in 1977 and was discontinued in 1992. Gwasg y Sir have also published various other local newspapers including Y Cyfnod, a weekly newspaper for the Bala area, Corwen Times and Merioneth Express.
Scope and content: Copies of newspapers, 1923-1976, comprising Y Cyfnod, 1935-1957, 1971-1975, Baner ac Amserau Cymru / Y Faner, 1923-1975, Corwen Times, 1955-1976, North Wales Coast Express, 1971-1974, Merioneth Express, 1973-1976, Denbighshire Express, 1971-1974, Y Seren, 1950-1974, and Y Cymro, 1942, 1956.
