Administrative and biographical history: The records comprise the records of the clients of J. G. Williams and clients of Edmund Hall Cheese and George Henry Page, all solicitors of Hay-on-Wye, Brecknockshire. They are a rich source of history for Radnorshire, containing title deeds, wills, manorial and government papers. In 1839, Walter Wilkins of Maesllwch (d. 1847) obtained the Royal Licence to take the name De Winton. He was a Whig candidate for the county. Clyro Court was the home of the Baskerville family. Bryngwyn is a parish in Radnorshire near the head of the river Arrow.

Williams, solicitor, Hay-on-Wye, Brecknockshire, and clients of Edmund Hall Cheese and George Henry Page, also solicitors of Hay-on-Wye, including deeds and papers relating to land in Radnorshire, 1640-1918; coroner's records, 1867-1873; Quarter Session records, 1853-1897; records relating to Bryngwyn, 1617-1912; records relating to Baskerville family of Clyro Court, 1897-1906; and records relating to the Wilkins and De Winton families, 1801-1876; and miscellaneous receipts of Thomas Higgins of Hay, 1802-1843.
