Administrative and biographical history: The Brecon and Radnor Joint Asylum, Talgarth, Brecknockshire, opened in 1903. It became the Mid Wales Hospital in 1921. The hospital came under the control of Powys District Health Authority in 1974 and Powys Health Care NHS Trust in 1993 and closed in 2000. The adjacent Wern Fawr farm was utilised by the hospital from 1903. It also owned other properties in the vicinity, which were sold off by Powys District Health Authority in the 1980s.


Scope and content: Deeds, 1660-1995, relating to property of the Mid Wales Hospital in the parish of Talgarth, including Wern Fawr and Rhyd y Beiny farms, 1660-1898, Nos 1-6 Lower Hospital Villas, 1985, and Nos 1-4 Upper Hospital Villas, 1988-1989.
