Administrative and biographical history: Civil parish councils were established by the Local Government Act 1894. Community councils replaced parish councils under the local government reorganization in 1974. Llangynyw was a parish in Montgomeryshire, and is now a Community in Powys.
Scope and content: Tithe apportionment of Llangynyw, 1849; and Ordnance Survey map, [c.1897]. There are no records of Llangynyw Community Council or Llangynyw Parish Council in the archive.
