Administrative and biographical history: Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, Montgomeryshire, opened in 1903, linking the rural communities around Llanfair Caereinion to the market at Welshpool. The line carried only freight from 1931 and closed in 1956. It was reopened by Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway Preservation Co. Ltd in 1963. Martha Jane Jones was the owner of Lower Brynelen Farm, Llanfair Caereinion.
