Administrative and biographical history: In 1927, George Davies was articled to AG Jenkins, who became a partner in the firm of local solicitor Thomas Vaughan, Crickhowell, Powys. The firm then became Vaughan and Jenkins. George Davies was admitted as a solicitor in 1939, obtained employment as an assistant solictor in Llandeilo in 1939, and then in 1940 with solicitors in Windsor and Maidenhead before in 1946 he opened an office in Abergavenny, on his own. There are records of the Crickhowell Liberals / Liberal Democrats. Organizations include: the Liberal Party; the SDP/Liberal Alliance; the Social and Liberal Democrats; the Lloyd George Society; the Welsh Liberal Party; Plaid Cymru; One Nation Conservative; the Conservative Party; Welsh-, Brecon & Radnor-, Crickhowell-, -Social and Liberal Democrats; Brecon & Radnor Liberal Democrats; Social & Liberal Democrats Mid & West Wales Euro-constituency; Brecon & Radnor Liberal/SDP Alliance; Brecon & Radnor Liberal Association.

Immediate source of acquisition: Deeds and Papers deposited by R. George Davies, solicitor, Courtlands, Cwrt Newydd, Crickhowell between September 1991 and March 1995. The records from the estate of Roy Davies were donated by Sheila Ward, his daughter.
