Over time the museum acquired archival material. Douglas Arthur Onslow (b. [1838]) of Burry Port, Carmarthenshire, and Marylebone, London, was a JP for Carmarthenshire. Welshpool dispensary was opened in an old woollen warehouse in 1827. In 1849 the upper rooms were used as an emergency hospital during a cholera epidemic.
