Administrative and biographical history: The British Records Association was formed in 1932. It acts as an archival clearing house, collecting groups of records and distributing them to the appropriate repositories.
Scope and content: Deeds, relating to properties all over Breconshire, mostly from London solicitors offices.Among them are deeds and manorial records, 17th-20th cent., relating to Llanigon, 1757, 1767, 1856; Brecon, 1767, 1776, 1788, 1790-1792, including a transcript of enrolled Charter granted 20 March 1555/1556 by Philip and Mary to the Borough of Brecon; Glasbury, 1623-1775; Ystradfellte, 1869-1874; Gwenddwr, 1675; papers about The Brecon and Merthyr Tydfil Railway Company, 1861,1873; several personal papers, 1722-1723, 1782, 1796, 1828; and papers regarding the Yniscedwyn Estate, Ystradgynlais, 1911-1968.
