Administrative and biographical history: Cynheidre Colliery was located in the Gwendraeth Valley, Carmarthenshire, sunk in the 1950s. In 1963, Cynheidre was integrated with Pentremawr Colliery, and closed in 1989. The Cynheidre Lodge was a branch of the National Union of Mineworkers; in 1974 it merged with the Pentremawr Lodge.
