Administrative and biographical history: The Commercial Bank of Wales (Banc Masnachol Cymru) was incorporated in 1971. On 14 September 1983 it opened a branch in Carmarthen. It became the Bank of Wales (Banc Cymru) in 1986, and was later bought by the Bank of Scotland.
