The records can include minute books, financial statements, correspondence, copies of planning applications, and rate lists. Community councils replaced parish councils under the local government reorganization in 1974, when Derwen Parish Council, in the county of Denbighshire, became Derwen Community Council, and Denbighshire became part of Clwyd. Derwen is now in the post-1996 unitary authority of Denbighshire. Derwen Burial Board was responsible for running a cemetery, 1925-1965.
