Administrative and biographical history: Community councils replaced parish and town councils under the local government reorganization in 1974. Abergele, previously in the county of Denbighshire, now in Conwy County Borough, is situated on the coast, between the towns of Rhyl and Colwyn Bay. Community councils can bear the title Town Council, which Abergele has done.
Scope and content: Records of Abergele Community Council and Town Council, 1973-1981, including correspondence and records relating to councillor elections, 1973-1981; attendance registers, 1974-1979; and committee minutes and agenda papers, 1979-1981.
