Administrative and biographical history: Denbighshire County Council's Education Committee was responsible for technical and further education, and established Denbighshire Farm Institute, Ruthin, in 1920, and also a teacher training college in Cartrefle, Wrexham (Coleg Athrawon Cartrefle) (active 1944-1948) and Llysfasi Junior Technical School (active 1945-1946). Denbighshire Farm Institute specialized in agricultural education, and maintained a commercial farm. During the 1960s, the Ministry of Agriculture ceased to have any direct control over farm institutes, and it became known as Llysfasi College of Agriculture. The college, now called Coleg Llysfasi, has two campuses, the Llysfasi site and a second site in Wrexham, and continues to offer courses in agricultural studies and other subjects. The college accumulated records relating to agriculture and education in the area, subjects include Denbighshire War Agricultural Committee, Denbighshire Education Authority, Clwyd Education Authority, the Young Farmers' Club and Vale of Clwyd Seed Growers.
