Administrative and biographical history: North Wales Arts Association (Cymdeithas Celfyddydau Gogledd Cymru), founded in 1964, funded clubs and societies and promoted cultural and artistic exhibitions and festivals in North Wales. The Association had links to schools and local writers. It produced a bi-annual magazine, Mabon, published in English and Welsh. The Association had a number of sub-committees, including art, drama, literature, and music panels.
Scope and content: Records of the North Wales Arts Association, [c. 1880]-1989, including executive, management and administrative records, 1964-1986; records of sub-committees, 1969-1978; records and programmes of exhibitions, festivals and meetings organized by the N. W. A. A., 1967-1989; records of external events, debates, exhibitions and festivals, 1967-1988; records of clubs and organizations involved with the N. W. A. A., 1964-1987; records relating to Mabon, 1966-1976; and photographs, mostly reproductions of photographs by John Thomas, [c. 1880]-1980.
