CONTEXT

Administrative and biographical history: The Richards family owned several farms in Cwm Taf Fechan area, in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan and Vaynor, Brecknockshire. In the 19th century, the property was held by John Richards and then Richard Richards. Two of the farms in Vaynor were destroyed in the construction of the Taf Fechan Reservoir, 1913-1927.
